Privacy Policy
Last updated: [TODO: date]
The short version: we only collect what we need to help you, we never sell or share your information, and we never ask for your passwords.
This policy covers Tech Whiz, a DBA of Beehive Media LLC, in Sioux Falls, SD, and this website.
What we collect
- When you fill out a form: your first name, email address, and, if you choose, your phone number. Family forms also ask who you're helping (a parent, grandparent, or someone else). The contact form also saves your message.
- When you book a visit: your name, address, phone number, email, and what you'd like help with.
- When you pay: payments are handled by our payment company. We see that you paid, but we never see or store your full card number.
- During a visit: short notes about what we worked on, which devices you use, and what's next, so we can help you better next time.
What we never collect
- Your passwords. Tech Whiz will never ask for your passwords over the phone, text, or email. During a visit, you type your own passwords.
- Your PINs, security-question answers, or full bank, card, Social Security, or Medicare numbers.
How we use your information
- To reply to you, schedule and confirm visits, and send receipts. Contact form messages are saved in our customer records (in MailerLite) so we can follow up.
- To send the free guide you asked for.
- To send our monthly scam-alert newsletter, if you signed up for a guide or ticked the newsletter box. Every email has an "unsubscribe" link, and you can stop anytime.
- For Family Peace of Mind plans: to email a short visit summary to the family member named on the plan, but only with the client's written permission.
Who we share it with
We never sell, rent, or trade your information. We use a few trusted companies to run the business, and they only use your information to provide their service to us:
- Netlify hosts this website and stores form messages.
- MailerLite sends our emails and newsletter.
- Cal.com handles online booking.
- Stripe handles payments.
- Google Workspace stores our email and visit notes.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
Website visits
- We use privacy-friendly visitor counts that don't use cookies or track you across other websites. [TODO: confirm which tool, Netlify Analytics or Plausible, once chosen.]
- This website loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google to download them.
Keeping it safe
We protect our accounts with strong passwords and two-step sign-in, and we keep visit notes private. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care to keep only what we need.
Your choices
- Stop emails: click "unsubscribe" in any email, or ask us.
- See, fix, or delete your information: call (605) 610-8764 or email techwhiz@beehive.media. We'll take care of it.
- How long we keep it: [TODO: how long you keep client records after someone stops being a client. Ask your accountant or attorney.]
Children
Our services and this website are for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
